Today is Sunday,
I was excited when a couple weeks back the chilly air filled our great city, and I have since been nothing but disappointed. It has been in the high 80's and even 90's this entire week? Can you say yuck! What good is fall without with ability to wear volcom hoodies and bringing out the uggs. Grrr..
Anyway, today we are having family time! YAY! Tanner and I don't have our family were aside from Tanners sisters and his brother and his wife. Oh and our little Kaylee bug! What I should say I suppose is we don't have the normal LDS family sundays. We don't go to our parents on sundays for dinner, following it up with movie time and laughs. It's pretty sad and I have yearned for that since I came here. Church as you all know was never a Sunday activity in my home so it wasn't much of a tradition in my life back in MI either however, my family was at least there if I wanted to just sit at home and watch old home movies with my parents. Not having that here is hard, on both of us. Luckily we have been very blessed. Tanner worked at this online school called GCU and there he met one of his best friends Jake Mendenhall. In the two years that they have been friends we have become so close with his family and they are just the most amazing people.
Bless this family!
They have been ever so kind to us and I very much to feel that they are family to me. Becky and Nolen have been like parents to us. We are so comfortable in their home, and I finally feel at home 2000 miles away from my "home". It is such a great feeling to know that you have people that have the open door policy, you're welcome anytime. That's what family is for huh!
